Intertextuality theory and criticism, as one of the modern approaches in 20th-century literary criticism, provides a method for reading literary texts based on comparison and juxtaposition. In fact, this theory examines the connection and interaction between texts. Adopting a comparative approach and based on the theory of intertextuality, the present study analyzes the recreation of the narrative of Shams and Rumi in two different sources: Aflaki"s Manaqib al-Arifin* (8th century AH) and Elif Shafak"s novel The Forty Rules of Love (21st century AD). METHODOLOGY: The research conducted for this study employs a descriptive-analytical method. FINDINGS: The findings indicate that by utilizing the key structures and themes of Manaqib al-Arifin*—including the trial of the disciples, the first meeting of Shams and Rumi, the request for wine, the beginning of Sama (whirling), the murder of Shams, the disposal of his body in a well, and the offering of rewards for news of Shams—Shafak has implemented a process of "transformative rewriting." Through this process, traditional mystical patterns are reproduced within a psychological, narrative, and human-centered framework. CONCLUSION: The article emphasizes that Shafak"s adaptation is not mere imitation but an intercultural recreation through which the heritage of Persian mysticism is reinterpreted within a global and modern horizon. In such a way, The Forty Rules of Love*, by relying on the classical source of Persian mysticism, has created a model for dialogue between tradition and modernity, East and West, and contemporary mysticism and psychology.هدف : هدف اصلی مقاله، تبیین نحوه اقتباس و بازآفرینی عناصر روایی، سبکی و معنایی از متن صوفیانه کلاسیک در رمان معاصر است. نقد و نظریه بینامتنیت یکی از رویکردهای نوین نقد ادبی در قرن بیستم به شمار میرود و روشی است برای خوانش متون ادبی برمبنای مقایسه و تطبیق. در واقع این نظریه ارتباط و تعامل متون با یکدیگر را بررسی میکند. پژوهش حاضر با رویکرد تطبیقی و بر اساس نظریه بینامتنیت، به تحلیل بازآفرینی روایت شمس و مولانا در دو منبع متفاوت ــ «مناقب‌العارفین» افلاکی (قرن هشتم هجری) و رمان «ملت عشق» اثر الیف شافاک (قرن بیست‌ویکم میلادی) ــ میپردازد. روش : بررسیهای این پژوهش که به روش توصیفی-تحلیلی انجام گرفته است، یافته ها : این تحقیق نشان میدهد که شافاک با بهره گیری از ساختارها و مضامین کلیدی مناقب‌العارفین، از جمله ماجرای آزمون مریدان، نخستین دیدار شمس با مولانا، درخواست شراب، آغاز سماع، قتل شمس، انداختن پیکر او در چاه و صله دادن برای خبر از شمس فرآیندی از «بازنویسی دگرگون‌ساز» را صورت داده است که طی آن الگوهای عرفانی سنتی در قالبی روان‌شناختی، روایی و انسان‌محور بازتولید میشوند. نتیجه : مقاله بر این نکته تأکید دارد که اقتباس شافاک نه تقلید بلکه بازآفرینی بینافرهنگی است که از طریق آن، میراث عرفان ایرانی در افق جهانی و مدرن بازخوانی میشود؛ به گونه ای که «ملت عشق» با تکیه بر منبع کلاسیک عرفان فارسی، الگویی از گفتگوی میان سنت و مدرنیته، شرق و غرب، و عرفان و روانشناسی معاصر را پدید آورده است.مولانا, شمس تبریزی, ملت عشق, بینامتنیتRumi, Shams Tabrizi, The Forty Rules of Love, Intertextuality.https://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/2001.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/2001.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/article/تحلیل و بررسی بازآفرینی روایت شمس و مولانا در رمان «ملت عشق» با تکیه بر بینامتنیتhttps://bahareadab.com/en/article/Analysis and study of the re-creation of the narrative of Shams and Rumi in the novel "The Nation of Love" based on intertextuality
