The metaphorical outlook of mystics constitutes the predominant rhetorical element in their intuitive and argumentative narratives, shaping their personal style. Given that mystical language, especially in the form of symbolic stories, shares characteristics with poetic and artistic language—namely, its symbolic and metaphorical nature—and considering the indissoluble ties between mystical texts and myth, this research aims to analyze and represent the deep mythical structure of Ibn Sina’s and Suhrawardi’s narratives based on their metaphorical language. In analyzing their stories, the study examines how metaphor functions and interacts with myth and mysticism to clarify how these two philosophers utilized these tools to interpret and articulate their worldview. METHODOLOGY: This research adopts a library-based approach to delve deeper into and elucidate the works of Suhrawardi and Ibn Sina. To this end, a meticulous and systematic study of their narratives forms the core of the research. By initially extracting information from relevant library sources, the study endeavors to provide a distinct interpretation of these works through a descriptive-analytical method, first by identifying and extracting metaphors and myths. FINDINGS: The findings indicate that cognitive metaphors play a pivotal role in the re-creation and function of myth within the mystical-philosophical texts of Ibn Sina and Suhrawardi. In this process, ancient myths transcend their purely narrative state and transform into fluid cognitive metaphors. Within the works of Ibn Sina and Suhrawardi, myth is re-created not merely as an ancient tale, but as a living language for expressing human existential journeying (spiritual quest). CONCLUSION: In these works, cognitive metaphors, in interaction with myth, serve to explicate and persuade the audience regarding the worldviews of Ibn Sina and Suhrawardi.زمینه و هدف: استعاره های شناختی به عنوان یکی از الگوهای ادراکی معتبر برای تبیین تجربه های عرفانی شناخته میشوند. نگرش استعاری عارفان و فیلسوفان، عنصر بلاغی غالب در روایتهای شهودی و استدلالی آنان است که سبک شخصی آنها را شکل میدهد. با توجه به اینکه زبان حکمت و عرفان، به ویژه در قالب داستانهای رمزی، همانند زبان شعر و هنر، دارای ویژگیهای زبانی رمزی و استعاری است و همچنین با در نظر گرفتن پیوندهای ناگسستنی میان متون عرفانی و اسطوره، این پژوهش بر آن است تا ژرف‌ساخت اسطوره ای داستانهای ابن‌سینا و سهروردی را بر مبنای زبان استعاری آ‌نها تحلیل و بازنمایی نماید. در تحلیل داستانهای ابن‌سینا و سهروردی، چگونگی کارکرد و تعامل استعاره با اسطوره و عرفان مورد بررسی قرار میگیرد تا روشن شود که چگونه این دو فیلسوف از این ابزارها برای تأویل و تبیین جهانبینی خود بهره جسته اند. روش مطالعه: این پژوهش با اتخاذ روش کتابخانه ای، در صدد واکاوی و تبیین عمیقتر آثار سهروردی و ابن‌سینا است. بدین منظور، مطالعه دقیق و نظاممند داستانها مبنای اصلی پژوهش را تشکیل میدهد. با بهره گیری از فیش‌بداری اولیه از منابع کتابخانه ای مرتبط، تلاش میشود تا با استفاده از روش توصیفی-تحلیلی، ابتدا استعاره ها و اسطوره استخراج و شناسایی کرده و خوانشی متفاوت از این آثار ارائه شود. یافته ها: یافته ها حاکی از آن است که استعاره های شناختی نقشی محوری در بازآفرینی و کارکرد اسطوره در متون عرفانی-فلسفی ابن‌سینا و سهروردی ایفا میکند؛ به گونه ای که اسطوره های کهن از حالت روایی صِرف خارج شده و به استعاره های شناختی سیال تبدیل میشوند. در میان آثار ابن سینا و سهروردی، اسطوره نه به مثابه داستانی کهن، بلکه چونان زبانی زنده برای بیان سلوک وجودی انسان بازآفرینی میشود. نتیجه گیری: در این آثار استعاره های شناختی در تعامل با اسطوره، در راستای تبیین و اقناع مخاطب نسبت به جهانبینی ابن‌سینا و سهروردی عمل میکنند.استعاره های شناختی, اسطوره, عرفان, ابن‌سینا, سهرودیCognitive Metaphors, Myth, Mysticism, Ibn Sina, Suhrawardi.https://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/1897.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/1897.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/article/بررسی ساختاری مناسبات استعاره های شناختی با اسطوره و عرفان در داستا‌نهای ابن‌سینا و سهروردیhttps://bahareadab.com/en/article/Structural Analysis of Cognitive Metaphors’ Relationships with Myth and Mysticism in the Narratives of Ibn Sina and Suhrawardi
