The recognition of this device as one of themost common expressions in art and literature is important due to its evoking and recurrent nature. The present study investigates the function and role of motif in the works of several novelists in 1320-1330. Motif has been commonly used in the literary works of this decade. These recurrent elements comprise a major part of most stories. The study introduces some prominent writers of the period; this introduction is preceded bythe description of the social and political conditions of the time. In addition, the functions of motifs are examined in some stories of this decade. The other objective of the paper is to analyzethe process of these meaningful elements, which represent writers" emotions, concerns andworldviews.یکی از ابزارهایی که در نقد و تحلیل جنبه های محتوایی و ساختاری آثار ادبی کاربرد مهم و نسبتاً جدیدی دارد، بحث موتیف، انگاره یا دانش بنمایه است. شناخت این ابزار به عنوان یکی از اصطلاحات رایج در هنر و ادب به علت خصلت برانگیزندگی و تکرارشوندگی از مقوله های مهم ادبی محسوب میگردد. در این پژوهش به روش تحلیل محتوا، از منظر کاربرد موتیف و تبیین جایگاه و کارکردهای آن، به بررسی اجمالی آثار چهار تن از داستان‌نویسان شاخص دهه های بیست و سی شمسی، صادق هدایت، بزرگ علوی، صادق چوبک، و بزرگ علوی، پرداخته شده است. پس از تحلیل ساختار، محتوا و کارکرد موتیفهای به کاررفته در این آثار مشخص شد که این موتیفها اغلب از نوع موتیفهای فکری و عاطفی هستند و نویسندگان از کارکردهای گوناگون موتیف برای غنی ساختن درونمایۀ آثار خویش بهره برده اند. همچنین موتیفهای به کاررفته در این آثار با شخصیت ‌پردازی، پیرنگ و فضای داستان ارتباطی تنگاتنگ دارند.موتیف, بنمایه, داستان, صادق هدایت, صادق چوبک, جلال آل احمد, بزرگ علویMotif, The usage, Functions, and stylistics , SadeghHdayat , SadeghChubak , Jalal Al-e Ahmad , BozorgAlavi https://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/1015.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/1015.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/article/موتیف، گونه ها و کارکردهای آن در داستانهای ایرانی در دهه های 20 و 30شمسیhttps://bahareadab.com/en/article/Motif, its types and functions in stories of 1320-1330
