In the modern approach of cognitive linguistics, especially based on the theory of “conceptual metaphor” by Lakoff and Johnson (1980), metaphor is not considered an expressive ornament but a tool for understanding and explaining abstract concepts through concrete concepts. The present study, with an ontological approach, examines conceptual metaphors in the poems of Mohammad Ali Bahmani and Nader Naderpour and tries to show how each of these two poets has recreated their understanding of love, death, time, and existence through metaphor. METHODOLOGY: This research was conducted in a descriptive-analytical manner based on a library study and analysis of poetry samples. In data analysis, metaphors were classified based on the cognitive model of Lakoff and Johnson and examined from the perspective of ontological functions. FINDINGS: The findings show that both poets use a coherent metaphorical system to explain the fundamental concepts of life; however, their type of attitude and lived experience have caused a distinction in the function of metaphors. In Naderpour"s poetry, metaphors are a reflection of a philosophical, time-oriented thought that reflects the lack of meaning, while in Bahmani"s poetry, metaphors are a manifestation of an emotional, romantic, and meaning-making view of existence. CONCLUSION: The fundamental difference in the worldview of these two poets has created two distinct types of ontological metaphors: Naderpour uses metaphor to explain the “lack of meaning in the world and contemporary man,” while Bahmani sees metaphor as a tool for “creating meaning from the heart of love and life.” As a result, a comparative study of conceptual metaphors in their poetry can reflect two opposing but complementary attitudes towards existence and man.زمینه و هدف: زبان شعر عرصه ای برای پیوند اندیشه و احساس است و استعاره، در این میان، نقشی بنیادی در بازنمایی تجربۀ انسانی ایفا میکند. در رویکرد نوین زبانشناسی شناختی، بویژه بر اساس نظریۀ «استعارۀ مفهومی» لیکاف و جانسون (۱۹۸۰)، استعاره نه زینتی بیانی بلکه ابزاری برای فهم و تبیین مفاهیم انتزاعی از طریق مفاهیم عینی تلقی میشود. پژوهش حاضر با رویکردی هستی‌شناختی، به بررسی استعاره های مفهومی در سروده های محمدعلی بهمنی و نادر نادرپور پرداخته و میکوشد نشان دهد هر یک از این دو شاعر چگونه از طریق استعاره، درک خود از عشق، مرگ، زمان و هستی را بازآفرینی کرده اند. روش‌ها: این پژوهش به شیوۀ توصیفی - تحلیلی و بر پایه ی مطالعۀ کتابخانه ای و تحلیل نمونه های شعری انجام گرفته است. در تحلیل داده ها، استعاره ها بر اساس الگوی شناختی لیکاف و جانسون طبقه بندی و از منظر کارکردهای هستی‌شناختی بررسی شده اند. یافته ها: یافته ها نشان میدهد که هر دو شاعر از نظام استعاری منسجمی برای تبیین مفاهیم بنیادین زندگی بهره میبرند؛ اما نوع نگرش و تجربۀ زیستۀ آنها موجب تمایز در کارکرد استعاره ها شده است. در شعر نادرپور، استعاره ها بازتابی از اندیشه ای فلسفی، زمان‌محور و متأمل در فقدان معنا هستند، در حالی که در شعر بهمنی، استعاره ها جلوه گاه نگاهی عاطفی، عاشقانه و معنا‌ساز نسبت به هستی‌اند. نتایج: تفاوت بنیادین در جهانبینی این دو شاعر، دو گونۀ متمایز از استعاره های هستی‌شناختی را پدید آورده است: نادرپور از استعاره برای تبیین «فقدان معنا در جهان و انسان معاصر» بهره میگیرد، حال آنکه بهمنی استعاره را ابزار «آفرینش معنا از دل عشق و زندگی» میداند. در نتیجه، مطالعۀ تطبیقی استعاره های مفهومی در شعر آنان میتواند بازتابگر دو نگرش متقابل اما مکمل به هستی و انسان باشد.استعارۀ مفهومی, هستی‌شناسی, محمدعلی بهمنی, نادر نادرپور.Conceptual metaphor, ontology, Mohammad-Ali Bahmani, Nader Naderpour.https://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/1933.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/downloadPDF/1933.pdfhttps://bahareadab.com/article/بررسی تطبیقی استعاره های مفهومی در سروده های محمدعلی بهمنی و نادر نادرپور با رویکرد هستی‌شناسیhttps://bahareadab.com/en/article/A Comparative Study of Conceptual Metaphors in the Poems of Mohammad Ali Bahmani and Nader Naderpour With an Ontological Approach
